The route goes through Georgia’s main and oldest viticultural appellations part of the Kartli and Kakheti regions. On this tour, we spend two days in Kakheti region visiting the wineries in 3 main Georgian appellations: Tsinandali, Kindzmarauli, and Napareuli. The remaining two days we will divide between the capital city and Kartli region visiting some qvevri winemakers and UNESCO heritage sites.
After the airport pick up we will straightly heat to Kakheti region – the main wine producer region of Georgia that hosts most of the wine appellations of Georgia. After the pleasant ethnographic dinner at one of the main local wine producers, we will relax and stay overnight at the wine spa resort hotel in Kvareli
During these two days, we continue our adventure in Kakheti region by going between the wineries, their vineyards, and the cultural heritage areas of this region – Alaverdi Monastery, Gremi Fortress and Tsinandali Museum. We will join the Georgian food and wine masterclasses at one of the local wine cellars we visit. Qvevri wine will be served to our lunch. By the end of the day, we will arrive for dinner in Tbilisi and stay here overnight.
Old Tbilisi will be at our disposal from the morning. As soon as breakfast is over we cross the old town on foot, visiting the oldest streets, cathedral and the Fortress Narikala. Interestingly Gabriadze Puppet Theatre clock will greet us at noon. Our lunch in old town will be followed by the visit of UNESCO heritage sites in ancient Georgian capital Mtskheta. Royal Chateau will be waiting for us after we complete our tour in Mtskheta. For dinner, we join one of the local winemaker’s estates in Kartli region. We come back to Tbilisi for overnight stay.
After the checkout we visit souvenir market at the place called Dry Bridge. For lunch, we go to one of the local ethnographic restaurants and taste freshly produced cheese – Sulguni made by the restaurant chef himself. Right before departure we dine at one of the most exotic and famous restaurants in the old town best known for its exclusive type of dishes and the wines selected with our advice.
