The route passes through the oldest wine appellations of Georgia in the regions of Kakheti and Kartli and ends in the Georgian capital city – Tbilisi. We will spend two days in Kakheti region visiting wineries of three key Georgian wine appellations: Tsinandali, Kindzmarauli and Napareuli. The other two days we spend between the capital city and Kartli region. We will visit micro-wineries producing qvevri wines as well as the monuments of UNESCO heritage in that area – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery.
After the airport pickup, we will straightly heat to Kakheti region – the main wine producer region of Georgia that hosts most of the wine appellations of Georgia. After the pleasant ethnographic dinner at one of the main local wine producers, we will relax and stay overnight at the wine spa resort hotel in Kvareli.
During these two days, we continue our adventure in Kakheti region by going between the wineries, their vineyards and the cultural heritage areas of this region – Alaverdi Monastery, Gremi Fortress and Tsinandali Museum. We will join the Georgian food and wine masterclasses at one of the local wine cellars we visit. Qvevri wine will be served to our lunch. By the end of the day, we will arrive for dinner in Tbilisi and stay here overnight.
Old Tbilisi will be at our disposal from the morning. As soon as breakfast is over we cross the old town on foot, visiting the oldest streets, cathedral, and the Fortress Narikala. Interestingly Gabriadze Puppet Theatre clock will greet us at noon. Our lunch in the old town will be followed by the visit of UNESCO heritage sites in ancient Georgian capital Mtskheta. Royal Chateau will be awaiting us after we complete our tour in Mtskheta. For dinner, we join one of the local winemaker’s estate in Kartli region. We come back to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.
After the checkout, we will visit the souvenir market of Dry Bridge. For our farewell lunch of the exotic ethnographic restaurants will be waiting for us. We will be tasting the variety of Georgian cheese including Georgia’s popular mozzarella-type cheese Sulguni made by the chef of the restaurant.
Time for departure. We will be happy to see and host you again!
