The route goes through Georgia’s main and oldest viticultural appellations part of the Kartli region and the capital city of Georgia. On this tour, we spend two days in the Kakheti region visiting the wineries in 3 main Georgian appellations: Tsinandali, Kindzmarauli, and Napareuli. In the remaining two days we will divide between the capital city and Kartli region visiting some qvevri winemakers and UNESCO heritage sites.
After the airport pick up we will straightly heat to Kakheti region – the main producer region of Georgian wine that hosts 14 of the 18 Georgian wine appellations. After the pleasant ethnographic dinner at one of the exotic wine producers, we will relax and stay overnight at the ethnographic hotel in Signagi.
Late breakfast and checkout and we continue our adventure in Kakheti again by going between the wineries, their vineyards, and the cultural heritage areas of this region – Alaverdi Monastery, Gremi Fortress, and Tsinandali Museum. Today we join the Georgian food and wine master classes at one of the local wine cellars we visit. Qvevri wine will be served to our lunch. By the end of the day, we will arrive for dinner in Tbilisi and stay here overnight.
Old Tbilisi will be at our disposal from the morning. As soon as breakfast is over we cross the old town on foot, visiting the oldest streets, cathedral, and the Fortress Narikala. Interestingly Gabriadze Puppet Theatre clock will greet us at noon. Our lunch in the old town will be followed by a visit to UNESCO heritage sites in ancient Georgian capital Mtskheta. Royal Chateau will be waiting for us after we complete our tour in Mtskheta. For dinner, we join one of the local winemaker’s estate in Kartli region. We come back to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.
We have quite a busy programme for today in Tbilisi. We start the morning by visiting the Jigaura Collection Plot accommodating over 400 unique Georgian grape varieties. After Jigaura lunch is waiting for us at Guramishvili Wine Cellar. No surprise – we start our lunch by tasting the wines of the company. As soon as we are done with the lunch our programme is continued by a swimming challenge fun at Gino Paradise near the Tbilisi Sea. We rest at the hotel before dinner. One of the best and most exotic restaurants in town is waiting for us to offer its absolutely delicious meals together with the town music programme. We stay overnight in Tbilisi.
After the checkout, we visit the souvenir market at the place called Dry Bridge. For lunch, we go to one of the local ethnographic restaurants and taste freshly produced cheese – Sulguni made by the restaurant chef himself.
